Description
Planing is a main process of surface machining. Metal planing services are perfect for applications that require flat, straight, and parallelism in an excessive long part. Also, cutters of planers are made to conform to sections of the shape being machined and can access difficult to reach areas.
We use the industry’s most versatile and accurate ferrous and non-ferrous metal planers to accommodate any size metal planing applications.
Features
1. Various Surfaces
Our custom process service can handle vertical and horizontal surfaces, T-slot, V-slot, dovetail slot, etc.
2. Micro Finish
Up to a 63-micro finish by our metal planning service can be easily held with tempered aluminum, bronze and brass. Steel, stainless and iron materials may be rougher depending on alloy and condition.
3. Flatter Parts
Rough machining, releasing and reshimming in a horizontal position make sure that parts are flat in a free state.
4. Scalping Condition
Scalp lines of approximately .001 to .0005 between lines can be an advantage for determining wear (visually) in surface plates. An air gap between lines allows parts resting on the surface to be easily moved.
5. Keyways and Body Lines
Planing in one continuous stroke of the table leaves a straight, parallel and consistent finish.
